Overview
A striking example of contemporary studio pottery featuring a deep cobalt blue body with dramatic iridescent luster glazes.
Story
In the late 20th century, a group of dedicated American potters sought to rediscover the 'lost' secrets of iridescent glazes that had fascinated the world during the Art Nouveau period. This vase, dated 1990, represents that technical obsession with light and chemistry.
Maker / Origin
David Fairman is an accomplished studio potter known for his mastery of complex glaze chemistry, particularly lusters and crystalline effects.
Condition & Value
The vase appears to be in excellent condition with no visible chips or cracks. The luster glaze is notoriously delicate and prone to scratching or 'dulling' if cleaned with harsh chemicals, but this example looks well-preserved. Excellent condition is vital for lusterware as the surface quality is the primary draw for collectors.

Comparable demand stays strongest where maker, originality, and venue confidence line up. Broader examples still trade, but the range tightens quickly when provenance, condition, or selling lane fit is missing.
