Overview
This is the legendary 'Credenza' model, the pinnacle of acoustic sound reproduction before the electronic age took over. Encased in a massive Italian Renaissance-style walnut cabinet, it features the revolutionary 'Orthophonic' folded exponential horn designed by Bell Labs engineers.
Story
In 1925, Victor faced extinction due to the rise of radio. They responded with this: a machine so powerful it could make a living room feel like a concert hall without a single wire or vacuum tube. It saved the company.
Maker / Origin
The Victor Talking Machine Company was the world's leading phonograph manufacturer, famous for its 'His Master's Voice' logo featuring Nipper the dog. Founded by Eldridge Johnson, the company was known for combining high-fidelity engineering with fine furniture craftsmanship.
Condition & Value
The cabinet appears to be in very good structural condition with a clean original finish. The blue grille cloth is a later replacement and not historically accurate, which slightly impacts collector value. Condition of the internal mechanical motor is unknown. The replacement cloth reduces value by roughly 15%.
