Overview
A heavy cast-metal commemorative bag tag and original drawstring pouch marking the 1998 opening of the Slammer & Squire golf course. The piece features an antiqued bronze finish and honors the legacy of two of golf's greatest legends.
Story
In May of 1998, the golf world converged on St. Augustine for the grand opening of the World Golf Hall of Fame, and this tag was there for the very first rounds played.
Maker / Origin
The course itself was a collaboration between architect Bobby Weed and design consultants Sam Snead and Gene Sarazen.
Condition & Value
The metal shows a light, attractive patina consistent with its 25-year age. The leather strap appears supple and the buckle is functional. The inclusion of the original branded pouch significantly helps the collectibility for a golf historian. Condition is very good for a functional souvenir.

Comparable demand stays strongest where maker, originality, and venue confidence line up. Broader examples still trade, but the range tightens quickly when provenance, condition, or selling lane fit is missing.
