Overview
A magnificent, heavy-walled emerald green cased glass bowl featuring exquisite cut-to-clear geometric and fan patterns. This oval-shaped centerpiece rests on three applied scroll feet and showcases a scalloped, saw-tooth rim with intricate starburst and thumbprint cuts.
Story
Crafted in the historic glassworks of Bohemia around 1900, this bowl was born from a recipe of intense heat and metal oxides. Its deep emerald skin was painstakingly carved away by a master wheel-cutter to reveal the brilliant crystal beneath.
Maker / Origin
While unsigned, this piece represents the pinnacle of Bohemian glass houses such as Moser, Egermann, or Josef Riedel. These workshops dominated the luxury glass market by combining secret chemical formulas for vibrant colored glass with unmatched wheel-engraving artistry.
Condition & Value
The bowl appears to be in excellent condition with very sharp cutting. The three applied scroll feet are intact, which is rare as these are highly susceptible to chipping. Minor shelf wear on the bottom of the feet is expected and would confirm age.
