Overview
A contemporary example of the 'clean label' personal care movement, this fluoride-free toothpaste features activated charcoal and botanical extracts.
Story
Burt Shavitz, a Maine beekeeper who lived in a converted turkey coop, never could have imagined his face would one day grace a tube of charcoal-infused toothpaste.
Maker / Origin
The brand was founded by Burt Shavitz and Roxanne Quimby in 1984, starting with beeswax candles sold at Maine craft fairs.
Condition & Value
The tube shows significant signs of use, including creasing and compression of the laminate body. As a consumable item, the value is essentially negated once the factory seal is broken and the product is partially depleted. Condition is consistent with a household object in active service.

Build on this identification
Layer in sold comps, value drivers, and venue guidance.
Comparable demand stays strongest where maker, originality, and venue confidence line up. Broader examples still trade, but the range tightens quickly when provenance, condition, or selling lane fit is missing.
