Overview
A comprehensive collection of the iconic 'Botanic Garden' pattern, featuring various floral motifs and the signature triple-leaf laurel border. This set includes rare specialty items like the figural bird teapot, egg server, and measuring cups alongside standard dinnerware.
Story
In 1972, Susan Williams-Ellis discovered a 19th-century botanical book and decided to bring the garden indoors. She broke all the rules by making every plate different, creating a 'mix-and-match' philosophy that changed modern dining forever.
Maker / Origin
Susan Williams-Ellis, daughter of the architect who built the famous Italianate village of Portmeirion in Wales, founded the company to provide unique souvenirs. Her keen eye for design and background in fine arts allowed her to create patterns that felt both ancient and fresh, eventually becoming a staple of British ceramic history.
Condition & Value
The pieces appear well-maintained with vibrant colors; however, the measuring cups show some interior staining. Crazing is common in this earthenware and should be checked on the larger serving pieces. Excellent condition overall.
