In 1862, the Schwob brothers established Cyma in Le Locle, Switzerland, aiming to produce remarkably precise watch movements. By the late 1940s, calendar complications became the pinnacle of everyday horological sophistication. This piece represents that golden era of mechanical engineering before digital watches existed.
Maker / Origin
Cyma was founded by Joseph and Theodore Schwob and quickly became one of the premier Swiss watch manufactures, operating a massive factory in La Chaux-de-Fonds. Renowned for their precision, Cyma produced exceptional in-house mechanical movements, including robust military timepieces and refined dress complications.
Condition & Value
The dial exhibits a charming light patina and age speckling consistent with a vintage piece from the late 1940s. The acrylic crystal and case show light scratching from normal wear. Overall dial print appears crisp and original, which helps preserve collector interest.
