Overview
A classic octagonal outdoor dining table crafted from dense, weather-resistant teak wood, accompanied by matching slatted folding chairs. The table features a central umbrella hole and a sturdy trestle-style base, designed to withstand the elements while offering a warm, timeless aesthetic.
Story
Teak's legendary durability made it the choice wood for centuries of shipbuilding. In the late 20th century, designers adapted this maritime powerhouse into elegant, folding patio furniture that could survive harsh winters and hot summers.
Maker / Origin
While unsigned, this set is built in the tradition of Scandinavian mid-century outdoor design, which heavily influenced Indonesian manufacturers who began exporting high-quality teak furniture globally in the 1980s. These workshops focused on mortise-and-tenon joinery and solid brass or galvanized steel hardware to ensure longevity.
Condition & Value
The wood shows typical silver-grey weathering and minor surface dryness from outdoor exposure, but remains structurally sound. The hardware has some surface rust but is fully functional. Cleaning and applying teak oil would dramatically restore its rich golden-brown color and increase its value.
