Overview
This is an exquisite mid-century cylindrical barrel vanity case crafted in polished gold-tone brass by Wadsworth. Featuring ornate rhinestone-encrusted starburst end caps, it ingeniously houses a pop-up lipstick tube, miniature comb, mirror, and spring-hinged powder compartment all in one pocket-sized cylinder.
Story
In the 1950s, glamorous evenings out required miniature marvels of engineering called minaudières. This pocket-sized barrel allowed a woman to discreetly touch up lipstick and powder with jewel-box flair.

Originally founded in 1889 as a premier manufacturer of high-end watch cases, the Wadsworth Watch Case Company in Kentucky shifted its precision metalworking expertise into luxury compacts and vanity cases during the 1930s to 1950s.
