Overview
A set of eight minimalist, lead-crystal champagne flutes featuring a sleek, elongated bowl and a slender, seamless stem. Designed to enhance the effervescence of fine vintage champagne, these glasses represent the pinnacle of French luxury glassware.
Story
Named after the Benedictine monk who pioneered champagne production, these flutes were designed to be as pure as the wine itself. Baccarat created this pattern in the 1970s to honor the 300th anniversary of Dom Perignon's discovery.
Maker / Origin
Founded in 1764 by royal decree of King Louis XV, Baccarat has survived revolutions and world wars to remain the 'Crystal of Kings.' They are world-renowned for their high lead content, which gives their crystal a diamond-like refractive index and a signature 'ring' when tapped.
Condition & Value
The flutes appear clear without visible clouding or 'glass sickness.' Any small chips on the delicate rims or bases would reduce the value of the set by approximately 20-30% per damaged glass. Excellent condition is expected for this valuation. Individual Baccarat flutes in this pattern typically retail for $160-$200 each.
