Overview
This is a delicate oval bone china pin dish or nut dish featuring a sweet forget-me-not floral pattern and a hand-painted gilt rim. Produced in England, it was commissioned specifically as a keepsake for visitors to the world-renowned Butchart Gardens in Canada.
Story
Jennie Butchart began transforming her husband's exhausted limestone quarry into a sunken garden in 1904. This delicate dish was made decades later to let travelers carry a piece of that blooming Canadian paradise back home.
Maker / Origin
English bone china was long considered the gold standard for North American souvenir wares.
Condition & Value
The dish appears to be in excellent vintage condition with no visible chips, cracks, or crazing. The gold gilding along the scalloped rim shows very little wear, which greatly helps preserve its modest value. Value is driven primarily by sentimental and regional collector interest.
