Overview
A delicate English bone china teacup and saucer featuring a scalloped 'Elizabethan' style rim and hand-painted pink rosebud sprays. The set is finished with fine 22kt gold gilding on the edges and handle, showcasing the classic Staffordshire floral aesthetic.
Story
Post-war Britain saw a blooming of floral ceramics as potteries moved away from wartime austerity. This set's '6711' pattern was a staple of the elegant tea parties that defined mid-century social life in the English countryside.
Maker / Origin
Founded in 1867, Taylor & Kent operated out of the famous Florence Works in Longton. They were renowned for their high-quality bone china and distinctive 'Rearing Horse' backstamp, eventually becoming part of the Elizabethan Fine Bone China brand in the 1960s.
Condition & Value
The set appears to be in good vintage condition with no visible cracks or chips. There is minor shelf wear on the foot of the teacup and slight thinning of the gold gilt on the saucer's rim, which is expected for its age. Condition is standard for the age and does not significantly detract from value.
