Overview
This striking Art Deco footed bowl features a lobed, petal-formed contour finished in a soft satin-frosted uranium glass with an iridescent sheen. Under ultraviolet light, trace uranium oxide within the glass formulation fluoresces with a vivid, radioactive green glow that collectors adore.
Story
During the 1930s, glassmakers added uranium oxide for its delicate chartreuse tint. Under natural light it is serene satin glass; hit it with a blacklight and it comes alive with an electric, neon glow.
Maker / Origin
While unsigned press-molded and satin art glass pieces were produced widely across Bohemia (such as Josef Inwald or Riedel) and the United States (such as Fenton or Cambridge), they all shared the innovative chemistry that defined early 20th-century decorative pressed glass.
Condition & Value
Very good vintage condition with bright UV fluorescence, smooth satin finish, and intact base foot. Minor surface contact wear and natural mold-seam lines consistent with age; condition supports full market appeal. Value is driven by strong crossover demand among Art Deco decor and specialized uranium/Vaseline glass collectors.
