Overview
An elegant three-piece console set featuring a large central cornucopia vase and two flanking cornucopia candleholders, all rendered in Cambridge's signature 'Crown Tuscan' opaque pink glass. The design features a horn-of-plenty shape terminating in a scrolled end, resting on a highly detailed, shell-and-scroll molded base.
Story
In 1932, amidst the Great Depression, Cambridge Glass introduced 'Crown Tuscan' to bring luxury to struggling households. This warm, fleshy pink glass was formulated using rare earth elements, specifically neodymium and gold, to achieve its unique, glow-from-within hue.
Maker / Origin
The Cambridge Glass Company of Ohio was one of the premier producers of elegant glassware in America, operating from 1902 to 1958. Renowned for their incredible color chemistry, they produced over 40 distinct glass colors, with Crown Tuscan remaining one of their most iconic and highly collected achievements.
Condition & Value
The set appears to be in excellent vintage condition with no obvious cracks, major chips, or staining. The delicate scrolled ends of the cornucopias and the scalloped rims are highly prone to damage, so a close physical inspection is recommended. Excellent, damage-free condition commands a premium.
