Story
In 1905, Cauldon took over the legendary Brown-Westhead, Moore & Co. works, inheriting a reputation for supplying royal households. These candlesticks were designed for the intimate glow of a formal dinner table before electric lighting became universal.
Maker / Origin
Cauldon Ltd. operated out of the famous Cauldon Place Works in Stoke-on-Trent, a site with pottery roots dating back to the 1700s. They were renowned for high-quality porcelain and were appointed 'Potters to Her Majesty the Queen' during the Victorian and Edwardian eras.
Condition & Value
The gilding on the rims shows minor rubbing consistent with age. No visible cracks or chips are apparent in the photos, though the candle wells show some wax residue. Excellent preservation of the white ground. Good condition maintains the mid-to-high end of the range.
