Overview
A charming pair of miniature 'boudoir' vases featuring a soft pink glaze, reticulated rims, and delicate hand-applied porcelain roses.
Story
Post-war households in the 1950s craved a return to domestic sweetness and 'fancy' decor after years of wartime austerity. These miniature vases were designed to sit on a lady's vanity or a 'whatnot' shelf, mimicking the incredibly expensive 18th-century Dresden porcelains of Europe.
Maker / Origin
While no specific maker's mark is visible, these are consistent with Japanese export ceramics produced during the post-war economic boom.
Condition & Value
The porcelain flowers appear remarkably well-preserved, which is rare as these are highly prone to chipping. There is visible wear to the gold gilding on the rims and handles, consistent with age and handling. Intact petals are the primary factor in maintaining their modest value.

Comparable demand stays strongest where maker, originality, and venue confidence line up. Broader examples still trade, but the range tightens quickly when provenance, condition, or selling lane fit is missing.
