Overview
A handsome, lighted corner curio cabinet crafted from premium quartersawn white oak, featuring classic Mission-style divided glass panels and an arched bottom rail. Designed to fit snugly into a corner, this piece showcases the beautiful flecking of ray flakes characteristic of traditional quartersawn oak while providing a warm, illuminated stage for art glass and collectibles.
Story
In the early 1900s, Gustav Stickley rebelled against fussy Victorian clutter with honest, functional furniture. Decades later, this corner cabinet revived that exact philosophy, turning a forgotten corner into a glowing gallery of light and shadow.
Maker / Origin
Founded by the Stickley brothers in upstate New York, L. & J.G. Stickley became synonymous with the American Arts and Crafts movement. After falling out of favor mid-century, the brand was revitalized in 1974 by the Audi family, who meticulously reissued the original Gustav and Leopold Stickley designs using the same uncompromising construction standards.
Condition & Value
The cabinet appears to be in excellent condition with a rich, warm patina on the oak. The glass panes are intact, and the integrated lighting system is fully functional. Excellent condition like this commands the top end of the market range.
