This exquisite Japanese Kutani porcelain covered bowl (kashiki) features fine overglaze polychrome and gilded decoration depicting figures, pavilions, and pine landscapes. The base bears the authentic iron-red 'Kutani Kaburaki sei' mark, accompanied by its original fitted wooden tomobako storage box.
Story
Founded in 1822 in Kanazawa, Kaburaki was the very first merchant establishment to market Kutani ware to the world. During the Meiji era, their master artists produced breathtakingly intricate landscape scenes that captivated international collectors.
Maker / Origin
Kaburaki Shoten (Kaburaki Studio) played a central role in revitalizing Kutani porcelain during the 19th century. Known for exceptional overglaze enamels and lavish gilt work, Kaburaki won numerous awards at foreign international expositions and remains an active, prestigious Kutani merchant today.
