Story

Post-World War II America saw a massive surge in the production of enameled steel furniture as factories transitioned from wartime manufacturing back to domestic goods.

Maker / Origin

While many of these were produced by companies like Cosco or Hamilton Manufacturing, many were also unbranded 'contract' pieces made specifically for hospitals and schools.

Condition & Value

The piece shows minor surface oxidation and paint loss, particularly around the rivets and lower shelf edges, which is consistent with its age. The original feet appear to have been replaced with modern black caps. This 'patina' is often preferred by industrial collectors, though it does keep the price in a more accessible range.
