Story
In the mid-20th century, power companies used a cheerful, lightning-bolt-bodied character named Reddy Kilowatt to convince Americans to ditch gas. This matchbook playfully uses a snowman to sell the magic of summer cooling and winter warmth.
Maker / Origin
The Match Corporation of America was one of the premier manufacturers of promotional matchbooks during the golden age of print advertising. Based in Miami, Florida, they produced millions of pocket-sized billboards for hotels, restaurants, and utility companies across the country.
Condition & Value
Very good vintage condition. The cover shows minor edge wear and light surface soil, but the graphics remain bright. The striking strip shows minimal use, and the majority of the original matches are still intact inside. Excellent preservation for a disposable item.
