Overview
A stunning example of Marc Lalique's post-war design, this bowl features a spectacular arrangement of stylized plane tree leaves in a mix of frosted and clear lead crystal. The 'Champs-Élysées' pattern is one of the house's most iconic motifs, capturing the essence of the famous Parisian boulevard's foliage.
Story
Marc Lalique designed this in 1951 to capture the play of light through the trees lining the most famous street in Paris. It transformed heavy crystal into a delicate, organic sculpture that defined mid-century French luxury.
Maker / Origin
Founded by René Lalique, the master of Art Nouveau jewelry and Art Deco glass, the company transitioned to lead crystal under his son Marc in 1945. Marc moved the brand away from the pressed glass of his father's era toward the brilliant, high-contrast lead crystal seen in this bowl.
Condition & Value
The bowl appears to be in excellent condition with no visible chips to the delicate leaf tips. Any 'flea bites' or scratches on the base from sitting on a shelf would slightly reduce value. Excellent condition is vital for Lalique collectors.
