Vintage Coach 'Beekman' Briefcase in Glove-Tanned Cowhide

Story

In 1941, a small workshop in Manhattan began crafting leather goods inspired by the supple, durable feel of a well-worn baseball glove. By the time this briefcase was produced in the late 20th century, Coach had become the gold standard for the American professional.

Maker / Origin

Founded by Lillian and Miles Cahn, Coach was revolutionized in the 1960s by designer Bonnie Cashin, who introduced the brass hardware and functional silhouettes we still recognize today.

Condition & Value

The bag shows heavy surface scuffing and 'character' marks consistent with daily use, particularly on the front flap. The leather appears dry in some areas but remains structurally sound with no visible tears. A deep conditioning treatment would likely restore much of the color and luster.
