Story
Introduced in 1967 to celebrate Longines' centenary, the Ultra-Chron was a mechanical marvel designed to guarantee accuracy within a minute a month. It achieved this by beating at a blistering 36,000 vibrations per hour.
Maker / Origin
Founded in 1832 by Auguste Agassiz, Longines is one of Switzerland's oldest and most respected watchmakers, famous for its historic ties to aviation and sports timing. During the mid-20th century, they were a true powerhouse of in-house movement design, pushing the boundaries of mechanical precision.
Condition & Value
The dial and hands appear remarkably clean with minimal spotting. The 10k gold-filled case shows light surface scratching and minor wear to the gold layer on the lug tips, which is typical for its age. It is currently fitted with a vintage Speidel expansion band.
