Maker / Origin
Founded in 1919 by Louis Marx, the company grew to become the largest toy manufacturer in the world by the 1950s, earning Marx the title 'King of Toys' from Time magazine. Known for producing high-volume, affordable, yet remarkably sturdy lithographed tin toys, Marx kept costs down by minimizing advertising and passing the savings directly to parents during and after the Great Depression.
Condition & Value
The station shows minor surface scratching, slight edge wear along the roofline, and minor warping typical of tabbed tinplate, but the lithography remains remarkably bright with the original chimney intact. Light wear slightly softens collector value but it displays very well.
