Maker / Origin
Founded in 1937 in Zanesville, Ohio, Shawnee Pottery took over a former American Encaustic Tiling plant and quickly became one of the most prolific makers of whimsical kitchenware in the United States. Famous for lines like Corn King and iconic figural pieces like Smiley the Pig and Winnie the Pig, Shawnee brought playful, affordable design into post-war American homes before closing in 1961.
Condition & Value
The jar body and face present in very clean vintage condition with glossy glaze and good color retention. Normal light shelf wear is visible along the dry foot ring on the underside. Having no visible large cracks keeps this piece in strong, displayable condition.
