Overview
This is a set of three vintage 'roly poly' style lowball tumblers featuring the iconic Baltimore Colts helmet logo. Crafted from a moody, smoked gray glass, these tumblers represent a golden era of NFL merchandising before the franchise's controversial move to Indianapolis.
Story
In 1984, the Colts famously packed up their gear in Mayflower moving vans in the dead of night, leaving Baltimore heartbroken. These glasses date to the decades before that split, when Johnny Unitas ruled the field. They are tangible relics of a lost era of Maryland sports history.
Maker / Origin
While unsigned, these tumblers are highly characteristic of the Libbey Glass Company of Toledo, Ohio. Libbey was the premier manufacturer of mid-century promotional glassware, famous for their durable, stylish 'roly poly' silhouette which became a staple of American home bars in the 1960s and 70s.
Condition & Value
The glasses appear to be in excellent vintage condition with no visible chips or cracks. The white enamel graphics are crisp and show minimal fading or wear from washing. Preserving the graphics requires hand-washing, as modern dishwashers will dull the enamel and reduce the value by 50%.
