The Dodge Brothers Company, founded by John and Horace Dodge in 1900, originally built precision engine parts for Ford before producing their own rugged vehicles. Acquired by Chrysler in 1928, the brand hired renowned sculptor Avard Fairbanks to design a mascot that would embody the 'ram-tough' spirit of their vehicles, leading to one of the most enduring logos in automotive history.
