Overview
This is a substantial Japanese porcelain tripod brazier (hibachi or teaburi) decorated with a continuous landscape (sansui) in underglaze blue and overglaze iron-red and green enamels. The interior is unglazed to withstand hot ash and charcoal, while the exterior rests gracefully on three molded cabriole-style feet.

Produced by kiln workshops in the famed Arita region of Hizen province, this vessel reflects the enduring Kakiemon and Imari decorative traditions. Arita artisans pioneered Japanese porcelain production in the 17th century, creating refined domestic and export wares celebrated for balanced compositions and vibrant overglaze enamels.
Condition & Value
The exterior enamels and glaze remain bright and intact with minor surface rubbing. The interior shows authentic, typical discoloration and residue from historical charcoal and ash use. Overall very good antique condition.
