For centuries, Chinese potters painted hidden wishes into everyday tableware. The four characters on the base of this dish read 'Chang Ming Fu Gui,' a poetic blessing wishing the owner a long life, wealth, and high honor.
Maker / Origin
While not bearing an imperial reign mark, this dish was crafted by skilled artisans in Jingdezhen, the porcelain capital of China. These workshops produced high-quality wares for the domestic merchant class and export markets, carrying on centuries of ceramic mastery.
Condition & Value
The underside shows a clean, well-preserved glaze with minor firing imperfections (pinholes) typical of the period. The unglazed foot rim shows expected wear and oxidation from age. Excellent overall condition based on the reverse view.
