Founded in Porto Alegre, Brazil in 1939, Taurus began as a tool and die manufacturer before producing its first revolver in 1941. Over the decades, the company grew into a global firearms giant, partnering with Smith & Wesson in the 1970s and later purchasing the Beretta factory in São Paulo, which heavily influenced their engineering and manufacturing capabilities.
