Story
Introduced in 1971, Orient's Caliber 469 became one of history's most prolific workhorse mechanical movements. Over 40 years, more than 100 million were built to survive everything from boardroom meetings to deep jungle treks.
Maker / Origin
Founded in Tokyo in 1950, Orient Watch Co. established itself as one of Japan's 'Big Three' watchmakers alongside Seiko and Citizen. While rivals leaned heavily into quartz during the 1970s, Orient doubled down on mechanical craftsmanship, producing robust in-house calibers that earned a fiercely loyal global following.
