Overview
A striking departure from traditional Irish motifs, this flared hexagonal vase features a hand-painted abstract geometric pattern in earthy terracotta and sage green. Each panel is defined by delicate gold-gilt lines, showcasing the high-quality bone china for which the Galway factory was world-renowned.
Story
In 1998, just five years before the historic Galway factory closed, an artist 'ML' hand-painted this modernist treasure. While most Royal Tara pieces celebrated Celtic knots, this series embraced bold, abstract energy.
Maker / Origin
Founded in 1953 in the 'City of the Tribes,' Royal Tara became the gold standard for Irish bone china, operating out of the 18th-century Tara Hall. They were famous for their translucent porcelain and their commitment to employing local artisans who hand-decorated every piece until the factory's closure in 2003.
Condition & Value
The vase appears to be in excellent vintage condition with no visible chips or cracks. The gold gilding on the rim and geometric lines shows minimal wear, which is crucial for maintaining its value. Excellent condition for a late-period piece.
