Story

Post-war Italy saw a creative explosion where ancient pottery traditions met modern design. This 'Lacrima' pattern was a favorite of American importers like Raymor, who brought these 'sun-drenched' Italian colors into mid-century suburban homes to break the monotony of brown furniture.

Maker / Origin

While often attributed to Aldo Londi for Bitossi, these high-relief pieces were also a specialty of Alvino Bagni’s studio in Florence. Bagni was a master of experimental glazes and textures, often collaborating with the legendary Raymor company to define the 'Italian Modern' look for the global market.

Condition & Value

The ceramic body appears well-preserved, though the relief edges are prone to small 'flea bite' chips that should be inspected closely. The wiring appears vintage and should be checked by a professional for safety. Excellent glaze retention increases value.
