Overview
An elegant four-sided porcelain vase featuring a vibrant lime-green sgraffito-style ground decorated with formal lotus scrolls. Each side is set with a circular reserve beautifully painted in the Famille Rose palette with seasonal flowers, bamboo, and butterflies, all resting on a turquoise-glazed base bearing an iron-red Qianlong seal mark.
Story
During the 18th century, the Qianlong Emperor demanded porcelain that pushed the boundaries of clay and color. This vase revives that golden age, using circular windows to frame miniature, poetic paintings of nature. It is a masterclass in visual storytelling, designed to be rotated with the changing seasons.
Maker / Origin
While bearing the imperial mark of the Qianlong Emperor, this vase was crafted by highly skilled 20th-century artisans in Jingdezhen, the porcelain capital of China. These workshops dedicated themselves to replicating the complex, multi-layered glazing techniques of the imperial court to satisfy a global demand for classic Chinese aesthetics.
Condition & Value
The vase appears to be in excellent condition with no visible cracks, chips, or major enamel loss. There is minor, expected shelf wear on the unglazed foot rim and very light rubbing to the gilt rim. Excellent condition preserves the maximum value for decorative porcelain.
