Story

Post-WWII American families traded formal silver for durable aluminum. This server survived the era of backyard potlucks and gelatin salads, designed to look like expensive hand-wrought pewter while being virtually indestructible.

Maker / Origin

The International Silver Company was a massive conglomerate of New England silversmiths that dominated the market for over a century. While they made fine sterling for the elite, their 'Giftware' lines brought high-style design to middle-class kitchens across America.

Condition & Value

The exterior shows typical surface oxidation and light scratching consistent with age and kitchen use. The presence of the original lid and finial is a major plus, as these are often lost over the decades. Surface wear is expected and does not significantly detract from its decorative value.
