Overview
This is a beautiful set of Italian-crafted glass goblets featuring a dramatic, textured gold-leaf band wrapped around the lower half of each bowl. Supported by a sturdy, multi-ringed baluster stem, these glasses perfectly balance rustic Mediterranean warmth with upscale, festive elegance.
Story
Founded in 1983 by a mother and her daughters after a trip to the Amalfi Coast, Vietri brought the vibrant, hand-painted soul of Italian tables to America. These glasses capture the sun-drenched, celebratory spirit of Italy, designed to make every everyday meal feel like a special occasion.
Maker / Origin
Vietri was started by Susan Gravely, Frances Gravely, and their mother Lee Gravely after they fell in love with the colorful local dinnerware in Positano. They partnered with local Italian artisans and family-owned factories to manufacture their designs, preserving traditional European craftsmanship while tailoring the scale and durability for modern American homes.
Condition & Value
The glasses appear to be in very good vintage condition with no obvious chips or cracks. The gold leafing looks largely intact, though hand-painted gold is highly sensitive to dishwasher use; any minor rubbing or flaking on the gold bands will slightly reduce the set's value.
