A vibrant, hand-painted Italian majolica ceramic serving platter masterfully molded in the shape of overlapping banana leaves. Produced in the historic pottery center of Nove, it features a rich, translucent green glaze that pools beautifully in the deep, realistic leaf veins.
Story
Crafted in the historic ceramic hub of Nove, Italy, this platter captures the post-war obsession with tropical escapism. Mid-century tables were transformed into lush, indoor gardens using these highly tactile, hand-painted botanical wares.
Maker / Origin
The Bresolin workshop operated in Nove, a region in northern Italy famous for its high-quality clay and centuries-old ceramic tradition dating back to the 1700s. Bresolin specialized in whimsical, highly detailed majolica tableware, carrying on the regional legacy of hand-painted, sculptural earthenware for the export market.
Condition & Value
The platter appears to be in very good vintage condition with bright glaze and minimal wear. There are a few tiny white spots on the raised leaf ribs that appear to be minor glaze flakes or manufacturing pops, which are very common in vintage Italian earthenware.
