Overview
This is a classic trapezoidal wooden racket press designed to clamp around the head of a traditional wooden tennis racket to prevent frame warping. Constructed from hardwood with sprung carriage bolts and wingnuts, it bears an inked 'TAIWAN' export stamp on the interior bar.
Story
Before graphite and carbon fiber revolutionized tennis in the 1980s, every laminated wooden racket was prone to warping from moisture and string tension. Players used sprung presses like this to keep their frames perfectly flat between matches.
