Overview
A classic ovoid-form ceramic vase featuring a stunning mottled crystalline glaze in a vibrant sky blue. This piece represents the Mid-Century Modern transition where industrial production met experimental chemistry to create unique, art-pottery finishes.
Story
Founded in 1871 on the banks of the Fox River, Haeger survived the Great Chicago Fire before becoming an icon of American design. This specific blue glaze was a favorite for post-war homes, bringing a pop of optimism to the mantle.
Maker / Origin
Royal Haeger is the artware line of Haeger Potteries, famously elevated by designer Royal Arden Hickman in the 1930s. Hickman brought a sophisticated, fluid sense of form that transformed a brick-making company into a powerhouse of American decorative art.
Condition & Value
The glaze appears remarkably vibrant with no obvious large chips or cracks visible in the photos. There is some typical shelf wear and minor staining on the unglazed foot ring, which is expected for its age. Excellent condition. Values for standard Royal Haeger production pieces are stable but modest.
