Overview
This is a pair of Japanese Kutani porcelain sake cups (sakazuki), each featuring an exterior with dark textured glazing and gilt relief foliage, opening to reveal finely hand-enameled erotic 'shunga' scenes inside. Both undersides bear hand-painted 'Kutani' (九谷) marks in red and gold enamel.
