Overview

A classic example of American iridescent pressed glass, featuring a deep 'peacock' or 'oil slick' luster over an intricate geometric pattern.

Story

In 1908, the Fenton Art Glass Company introduced a line of glass meant to mimic the wildly expensive iridescent art glass of Tiffany and Steuben, but at a price the average person could afford.

Maker / Origin

The Imperial Glass Company of Ohio was a titan of the industry, founded in 1901 by Edward Muhleman.

Condition & Value

The bowl appears to be in excellent vintage condition with no visible 'flea bites' or chips to the sharp points of the pattern. Standard Carnival Glass patterns like this are widely collected; value is driven by the vibrancy of the iridescence and the lack of chips on the delicate ruffled edges.
