Overview
This is a foundational set of the four most influential books in tabletop gaming history: the Players Handbook, Dungeon Masters Guide, Monster Manual, and the Fiend Folio.
Story
In 1977, Gary Gygax began releasing these hardcovers to bring order to the chaotic, pamphlet-based rules of original D&D, inadvertently launching a global cultural phenomenon.
Maker / Origin
TSR was founded by Gary Gygax and Don Kaye in a basement in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, originally to publish rules for miniature wargaming.
Condition & Value
The books show typical shelf wear, corner softening, and some 'whitening' on the edges of the covers consistent with use. Value is driven by the completeness of the 'core' set and the inclusion of the Fiend Folio.
