Overview
This is a beautifully polished specimen of Hematoid Quartz, colloquially known as 'Fire Quartz' due to its vibrant internal inclusions.
Story
Millions of years ago, as quartz crystals grew deep within the Earth's crust, microscopic particles of hematite or limonite were swept into the cooling silica.
Maker / Origin
While the specific lapidary artist is unknown, this piece represents the skilled craftsmanship found in the gemstone hubs of Madagascar or the Minas Gerais region of Brazil.
Condition & Value
The specimen appears to be in excellent condition with a high-gloss finish. The internal lines and 'cracks' are natural inclusions and fractures within the quartz, not damage to the exterior. The base is likely slightly flattened or requires a stand for upright display. Excellent condition for this type of lapidary work.
