Overview

A stunning fine porcelain decorative plate featuring the iconic 'Moonlight and Stars' motif by the legendary artist Erté.

Story

In the mid-1980s, the world rediscovered the genius of Romain de Tirtoff, the Russian-born artist known as Erté, who had essentially invented the visual language of the 1920s.

Maker / Origin

Romain de Tirtoff adopted the pseudonym 'Erté' (the French pronunciation of his initials, R.T.) to avoid shaming his aristocratic family by becoming an artist.

Condition & Value

The plate appears to be in excellent condition with no visible chips or surface scratches. While Erté's original paintings sell for tens of thousands, these porcelain editions were produced in significant numbers.
