Overview

A classic example of English transferware ironstone created specifically to celebrate the United States Bicentennial.

Story

In the mid-1970s, as the United States prepared for its 200th birthday, a massive wave of 'Americana' swept the nation, leading to a unique collaboration between English potters and American grocery stores.

Maker / Origin

The pieces were manufactured by Enoch Wedgwood (Tunstall) Ltd, a firm with roots dating back to the 1830s in the heart of England's pottery district.

Condition & Value

The plate appears to be in excellent condition with a crisp, vibrant transfer and no visible chips or cracks. These were mass-produced in huge quantities for supermarket promotions, making them very common today.
