Overview
A classic mid-century Swiss dress watch featuring the legendary Caliber 601 manual-wind movement and a minimalist sunburst dial. This piece represents the 'Golden Age' of Omega, where mechanical precision met understated, timeless design.
Story
In 1964, the year this watch was manufactured, Omega was cementing its status as a global powerhouse, having recently been selected by NASA for the Apollo space program.
Maker / Origin
Founded in 1848 by Louis Brandt, Omega evolved from a small assembly workshop into the official timekeeper of the Olympic Games and the choice of icons from JFK to James Bond.
Condition & Value
The movement appears remarkably clean and well-preserved, which is the most important factor for functionality. However, the exterior shows heavy 'brassing' where the gold plating has worn away to the base metal, and the case back has significant scratching. The strap is a modern replacement.
