A striking Swiss-made mechanical timepiece featuring a bold, square case with a distinctive 'brick' or 'bark' textured bezel.
Story
Before Mondaine became globally famous for the iconic Swiss Railway clock design, they were masters of the 'Mod' aesthetic that defined the late 1960s.
Maker / Origin
Founded in 1951 by Erwin Bernheim, Mondaine is a family-owned Swiss powerhouse that eventually secured the rights to the legendary SBB (Swiss Federal Railways) clock design.
Condition & Value
The gold plating shows some expected wear and minor pitting on the edges and caseback, consistent with age. The dial and hands appear remarkably well-preserved, though the crystal has light surface scuffing. Functional status of the mechanical movement is the primary factor in reaching the higher end of the estimate.
