Story
The McKinley Tariff Act of 1890 required all imports to the United States to be marked with their country of origin, leading to the golden age of 'Nippon' porcelain.
Maker / Origin
While many of these pieces are unsigned or carry a generic 'Nippon' mark, they were produced by highly skilled artisans in workshops that would eventually become world-renowned brands like Noritake.
Condition & Value
The set appears to be in remarkable condition with the gilding on the feet and rims showing only minor shelf wear. Complete sets in this condition are increasingly rare.
