Story
Venetian glassmakers on the island of Murano have been perfecting the art of botanical realism since the Renaissance, but it was the 1950s and 60s that saw a global explosion in glass fruit as the ultimate chic home accessory.
Maker / Origin
While many of these pieces were produced by world-renowned furnaces like Seguso or Barbini, thousands were also the work of smaller, highly skilled 'maestros' in the Venetian tradition.
Condition & Value
The piece appears to be in excellent vintage condition with no visible chips to the leaf or stem, which are the most vulnerable areas. Value for unsigned Murano-style fruit is driven by color vibrancy and the condition of the delicate leaf.
