Overview

This is a large-scale, three-dimensional illuminated 'channel letter' sign featuring the iconic Vespa script logo.

Story

Enrico Piaggio looked at the prototype for his new two-wheeler in 1946 and exclaimed, 'Sembra una vespa!' (It looks like a wasp!), giving birth to a name that would define post-war mobility.

Maker / Origin

Piaggio, originally an aircraft manufacturer, pivoted to scooters after WWII to provide affordable transportation for the masses.

Condition & Value

The sign appears to be in excellent cosmetic condition with clean white faces and intact black returns. It is professionally mounted on a display board. Authentic dealership signage is highly sought after by 'automobilia' and 'petroliana' collectors.
